The Flock’s Feather
(Drailon is also sometimes colloquially– and somewhat derogatorily– called “the zoo”)
Drailon is best known for its talented animal handling and conquest over monsters, and perhaps one of the worst-hit by the storm due to its large domesticated animal population and once-sprawling population
Ward Drailon occupied the larger wilds away from The Great Vista, with a relatively smaller capital and much larger wandering and village-inhabiting population within its rich and relatively untouched forests and fields. Animals and Monsters inhabit all places of the world, but this fauna-rich and varied natural habitat means that many are found here. The head of a monster is a great prize in Drailon, as is a herd of healthy prize-winning cattle.
Drailon was especially unprepared for the storm; its smaller capital did not have the resources to support the influx of people and animal, not to mention the wild animals and monsters escaping on their own. The capital ended up needing to turn people away when they reached capacity; so, where the other Wards have the vast majority of their original population sheltering within the new areas created near the capitals with their resources, Drailon is far more scattered, with more people fending on their own or needing to brave the storm to visit others for transport.
Although the practice is looked down on, some people have begun trying to tame or befriend monsters to use for protection in traversing the grounds above.
